Interior Design Excellence: A Silver A' Design Award Winner

Sergei Savateev, a renowned interior designer, drew inspiration from a soft and comfortable interior with a majority of gray-colored-powder and coffee hues. The design is accentuated by several metallic elements of chromium, golden and frosted golden coloring. The apartment is full of plants, both real and decorative, and mirrors are used as an accent to broaden the spacings, provide more light, and give the illusion of entering into other placements.

The unique properties of "Gray and Gold" lie in its fusion of historic rich interior and oriental shadings. The design was intended to transform a flat located in Nevskiy prospect, featuring thick walls and high ceilings, into a comfortable accommodation that injects the brightest emotions to the owner while in Saint-Petersburg.

The realization of this design involved a careful selection of warm and grey colors. The color scheme, not bright but rather in half-tones, created the necessary strict, yet cozy atmosphere of the fine old mansion. All materials used for decorative styling were manufactured by top producers, ensuring high quality and superior characteristics.

The project, which covers a floor area of 180 m^2, started when the house was just built. It was completely empty and new, with no renovation or furniture. All communications were elaborated from the beginning according to up-to-date quality standards, including the system of enlightenment, climate-systems, internet-communications and audio-system, home appliances. The newest system of sound absorption was applied.

One of the challenges in creating the design was the great number of teenagers in the family, each wanting their own style in their bedroom. This was successfully realized and combined with the common general motifs of the substantive style of the designer. The design was completed in March 2019, after several versions were created and the final version was accepted.
